Archstone Building Apartments, Park in Emeryville

Construction is underway on a new 125-unit apartment complex in Emeryville. Archstone Parkside will be a mix of studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom units adjacent to a new public park that will feature Emeryville's first-ever off-leash dog area. The units will be a mix of flats and live/work and will be finished with gourmet kitchens, high ceilings, and in-unit washer/dryers. Community features include a swimming pool, 24-hour gymnasium, and a "pet spa." Archstone, who also owns and operates Archstone South Market in San Francisco, touts city skyline views, underground parking and close proximity to BART, the free Emeryville Go Round shuttle and interstates 80/580 as additional features. The apartments are expected ready for occupancy in spring 2014, and may help provide some relief to the low-vacancy rate of the near-East Bay. -Michael Conrad
