1285 Sutter Seeking LEED Gold Certification

New, 8 comments

[Photos via Michael Conrad] Details of the nearly complete development site at 1285 Sutter Street in the Civic Center Neighborhood are hard to come by. The 107-unit, 13-story structure is scheduled for occupancy this summer, yet no leasing site or unit information is available. What we do know is the site is known for being the home of the former Galaxy Theater, as well as the original suitor of a Trader Joes (who now occupies the old Cala Foods location nearby). We also know there are 2 floors of underground parking and 9,731 sq. ft. of retail space available (along with 20 deeded parking spaces) that is well suited for a grocer. The developer, Gerding Edlen, is seeking LEED Gold certification for the building, with a good chance for success—they have completed 51 LEED certified projects to date. –Michael Conrad
