More on Soft Story Seismic Retrofits

The Planning Commission will get an informational presentation on the proposed/resurrected mandatory soft-story seismic upgrade program. The new rules would apply to wood-frame buildings of three or more stories built before 1978 containing five or more dwelling units, as long as the building has not already been seismically strengthened. People are most interested in how will the city help landlords come up with money for the retrofitting. [SF Planning/previously on Curbed SF]
