Last year Supervisor Wiener introduced legislation regulating commercial dog walkers, and after lots of negotiations with dog owners, SPCA, and the city, reached a general consensus. They gave 18 months for everyone to get ready for the changes, and now the Board of Supervisors will vote on some last minute tweaks to the rules, like requiring an eight foot max leash length, a $1M insurance liability policy, and grandfathering in dog walkers who have already had a business license for three years.
