SAN FRANCISCO—The January edition of the Eater Heatmap is here, with Trick Dog, Saison, and Hi-Lo BBQ joining our roundup of the buzziest restaurants in town.
MARINA—Here's an inside look at Stock in Trade, the huge Marina tavern in the former La Barca space that's opening Monday. Booze, bacon, and bocce (they've got an indoor court) will all be in supply.
RUSSIAN HILL —The former Parrilla space on Polk will become 1760, a new casual Italian spot from the owners of Acquerello (sort of the Cotogna to Acquerello's Quince). A full bar, sizable wine list, and cuisine from former L.A. chef (and sushi master!) Adam Tortosa are also in the offing.
THE MISSION—We've got photos and menus for Hi-Lo BBQ, the new Mission project (and Eater Heatmap member) from Scott Youkilis of Maverick and Hog & Rocks, with killer 'cue from Broken Record alum Ryan Ostler (sake-braised pork belly, anyone)? Scott Beattie and Michael Lazar's cocktails are in play, too.

SAN FRANCISCO—Nanobreweries are coming out of the woodwork: first the Rare Barrel, which is doing sour beers in Berkeley, and now Pine Street Brewing, which launched its first pale ale and joined the SF Brewers' Guild this week.
SAN FRANCISCO —If you're like us, auto-play music on restaurant websites makes you want to scream. That's why we're calling out offenders wherever they may lurk, and bringing them to justice in the Eater Hall of Shame. We hope you'll send us your own nominees so we can rid society of this scourge.
THE EMBARCADERO—After nearly 30 years, the Fog City Diner, which launched the concept of global small plates, introduced Cindy Pawlcyn to the world, and made a memorable appearance in a Visa commercial, announced it will close in March. The revamped space will just be called Fog City, and chef Bruce Hill (Zero Zero, Bix) will develop the new menu.
