Subway Fears in North Beach

What effect will the impending Central Subway project have on North Beach restaurants? With the abandoned Pagoda Theater as home base for construction, restaurants along Columbus Ave. are worried about impact on business since most of that activity has to take place during the day. "There's going to be dust, there's going to be loud noises, there's going to be construction equipment parked outside my restaurant," said owner of Piazza Pellegrini. No doubt neighboring owners have similar fears: spring and summer tourism is almost upon us. [SF Examiner and CurbedSF, previously. Photo via NC2 Studio]
