Long time SF residents may have fond memories of the old Crusader jet remade into a rather thrilling play structure in the Sunset's Larsen Park. It disappeared in the 1990s, but SF Gate has good news. "The Friends of Larsen Playground have raised $860,000 of the $1 million needed for full site renovation. Included is an artist-made jet plane inspired by the ghosts of playgrounds past." So soon we may get to act out our pilot/battle/travel fantasies again. Or our kids will. [SF Gate]
