BART Wants Your $$$

Just in case you were getting too comfortable with your personal transit budget, BART has announced they'll be considering a plan to increase fares by 5.2% next year. The fare proposal would continue a program of inflation-based increases through 2020, with additional estimated increases of around 3.9 percent in 2016, 2018 and 2020, and also considers increasing parking rates at busy lots by 50 cents every six months til they reach a cap of $2 or $3. No decisions will be made at today's BART board meeting, they will just hear all the info. [SF Appeal/Photo: Paul Sullivan]
