French American School Headed to the Upper Haight

New, 3 comments

The Hayes Valley-based French American International School has broken ground on a new satellite campus that will house its Early Childhood Center, or "maternelle," at 1155 Page Street. F.A.I.S. will lease the previously abandoned site from the San Francisco Unified School District for 20 years, and redevelop the decrepit structure currently occupying the lot. Come September 2014, a new 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility will open its doors, making way for further improvements to the main campus on Oak Street. The project, designed by CA Architects along with Base Landscape Architecture, will feature two custom courtyards and be LEED certified. Considering the tab for a year of kindergarten at F.A.I.S. runs upwards of $23,000, it's no surprise that the new building will be first class.
