899 Valencia Quietly Building On Former Gas Station Site

New, 3 comments

It's been quite some time since we've heard a peep out of 899 Valencia Street, a building first approved in 2011 for the Valencia Corridor. The project has quietly broken ground on the corner of 20th Street, site of a former gas station, and is currently a giant hole in the ground awaiting a foundation. When completed, a five-story building designed by Kerman Morris Architects will contain 18 family-sized units: four two-bedrooms, and 14 three-bedrooms. 7,100 sq. ft. of ground floor retail will grace the bottom floor and up to 18 parking spaces will be hidden away in the basement. While not the most stunning or cutting-edge design, the overwhelming feeling is this is better than the oft-gratified parking lot that existed before.
