Radisson Fisherman's Wharf to Undergo $20M Makeover

Pebblebrook Hotel Trust recently purchased The Radisson Fisherman's for $132 million, and the group now plans a serious upgrade to the tired complex, which occupies an entire square block of the tourist-swamped wharf. The cost of the redesign will clock in at an estimated $20 million and will be carried out by Dawson Design Associates, of hotel Zetta Fame. The complex includes 44,000 square feet of retail space, but there's no word yet on whether the deal spells doom for the plethora of tacky t-shirt shops that line Jefferson between Powell and Mason. The transformation is part of a slew of upgrades occurring around the neighborhood, which include streetscape improvements on the west end of Jefferson and renovations at other big-name chain hotels.
