Bernal Heights, often described as its own town within our big city, is a crowd favorite for many reasons. There are no shiny skyscrapers or chain stores, but there are gorgeous centenarian abodes to purchase, and plenty of newly constructed contemporary manses to gawk at. Shopping at one of Cortland's many locally-owned small businesses is a pleasure, as is star-gazing from Bernal Hill at night.

Pacific Heights, the neighborhood for San Francisco's most affluent set, has had quite a year. Many of the neighborhood's most expensive homes were listed and sold, including legendary filmmaker Chris Columbus' mansion on Jackson. The $35M sale of 2950 Broadway on Billionaire's Row was the most expensive single-family home sale in the history of San Francisco. Another neighborhood highlights was the unveiling of the renovated Lafayette Park.
