Oakland Athletics owner Lew Wolff has panned the plans for a new waterfront ballpark for his team, calling the site "absolutely impossible." The statement is in response to recent news that a group of businessmen are hoping to build a new baseball park at Oakland's Howard Terminal. The site is waterfront adjacent and near downtown and Jack London Square. Wolff points out that the site is nearly a mile from the nearest BART station, and is an environmental disaster that would require an extensive cleanup. Wolff didn't completely rule out plans to stay in Oakland however, noting that the best place for a new park "would be where we're at right now," referring to the Coliseum site and possibly the Coliseum City project planned for the area.
