Curbed Cup 1st Round: (1) Mid-Market vs. (16) Inner Sunset

No other area of the city is hotter for development right now than Mid-Market, with the massive Nema opening its first building, Avalon Bay's Ava pre-leasing, and many other residential projects breaking ground. Square opened its new headquarters, Twitter expanded, and the Strand Theater is being refurbished by ACT. Following all this development life at street level is also thriving with Huckleberry Bike's currently expanding, a Norsdstrom Rack on the way, and a market place and brasserie planned for the old SF Furniture Mart building.

The Inner Sunset isn't all fog and the N Judah. This neighborhood hosts a bunch of undervalued but awesome parks with some pretty killer views. The bustling commercial district on 9th Avenue has some new housing and restaurants moving in, while the Doelger Sales Office on Judah recently got some landmark love. Things are pretty active over in Golden Gate Park too, as The Academy of Science got the ok to expand its restaurant and the De Young hosted an exhibit on some very swanky bling. But who are we kidding, that fog can be pretty awful.
