Visa Realizes its Mistake, Moves 500 Jobs Back to S.F.

New, 2 comments

Credit card company Visa is moving back to San Francisco just a year after it packed up and abandoned its 44,000 sq. ft. office at 595 Market Street for Foster City. Now the company is leasing 111,000 sq. ft. of space at the posh One Market Plaza with the option to expand if necessary. Visa is jumping on the bandwagon of Silicon Valley companies opening or expanding offices in the city "to help with the recruitment of the young urban engineers who are increasingly unwilling to commute to a generic suburban office park devoid of culture or street life." 500 employees will make the move to (or be hired in) San Francisco, while Visa's executives will remain in the Foster City office.
