Earlier this year Curbed brought initial renderings for the massive project planned for 1634-1690 Pine Street. Currently the site includes five vacant buildings and a parking lot, but they happen to be part of the eligible Pine Street Auto Shops Historic District. The project would demolish most of the buildings and construct two 13-story residential towers with ground floor retail, 262 units, and parking for 245 cars. Three of the existing building façades would be restored and incorporated into the proposed project, but other alternatives calls for keeping either the façades or most parts of the five buildings and constructing smaller buildings behind them. Hit up tomorrow's Planning Commission meetings if you have opinions on the environmental document, or you can submit them in writing til November 18.
