Bay Area is Home to 3rd, 4th, and 5th Most Expensive Real Estate Markets in America

Coldwell Banker released its Home Listing Report today, which ranks approximately 2,000 US markets based on the average listing price of four-bedroom, two-bathroom homes. Home to the nation's top 5 most expensive and over half of the top 25 most expensive markets, California certainly threw its weight around on the list. However, its range of markets saved it from topping the list as the most expensive state in the union —it came in at #3, with an average home price of $473,301.

The Bay Area claims spots 3, 4, and 5 on the list, behind Malibu and Newport Beach. Saratoga's average listing price of $1,684,261 ranks third; Los Gatos's average listing price of $1,360,497 ranks fourth, and San Francisco's average listing price of $1,309,559 ranks fifth.
