Plans Unveiled for New Parklet and Plaza at American Cyclery

New, 6 comments

The folks at American Cyclery plan to completely transform an unsightly patch of asphalt at Stanyan and Frederick streets in to a new neighborhood gathering space. Renderings by Gast Architects reveal the leafy plaza coming to the site, which will be flanked by a parklet with seating and plentiful bike parking. Other ideas for the plaza, featured in a video about the project, include a food truck and a bike repair station. The plan has backing from supervisor London Breed, as well as preliminary approval from the San Francisco Planning Department and the MTA. The designs shown above aren't final, and will be refined with input from the community. With the Kezar Triangle makeover taking place just a few blocks away, area residents will soon benefit from a solid variety of new and improved open space options.
