Not normally a big fan of government intervention, Berkeley is looking into a possible ban on smoking that include not only muti-unit buildings, but single-family homes. The proposal, as formulated by Berkeley City Council member Jesse Arreguin, would include "homes where children, seniors or lodgers are present." Coucilwoman Susan Wengraf agrees on the multi-unit aspect, but thinks that banning smoking in single-family homes "might be going too far." [SFGate]
