Did Mark Zuckerberg Buy His Palo Alto Neighbor's House?

New, 5 comments

Hidden behind an LLC that's registered to a San Francisco wealth management firm that counts Mark Zuckberg as a client is the sale of a 2,650-square-foot house in Palo Alto. The home just sold for a mind-numbing $14.5M, or $5,470 per square. The average cost per square in Palo Alto is about $1,000. When asked about the high price, longtime Palo Alto broker John Souerbry told the Silicon Valley Business Journal that he's never heard of a sale that high. "Not in my experience," he said. "Not unless it's a commercial building that's going to go 20 stories vertical. Not for a residential property." The house is also adjacent to the backyard of Zuckerberg's home on the 1400 block of Edgewood Drive, which Zuckerberg paid $7M for in 2011. Considering how much money Zuckerberg allegedly paid for and sunk into his San Francisco pied-a-terre fixer-upper, it wouldn't be a surprise if he were the mystery buyer.
