Supervisor Scott Wiener is standing up for San Francisco dog owners, by putting forth a more balanced alternative to the GGNRA's restrictive plan to overhaul policies for off-leash dogs in National Park areas. Concerned that city parks would become overburdened as a result of the GGNRA's plan—which would place restrictions on parks such as Fort Funston and Crissy Field—Supervisor Wiener advocates the need to consider the needs of all city residents, including those with dogs. His be heard by the Land Use and Economic Development Committee on October 21st, so stay tuned. [Mission Local]
