Hidden Garden Steps Looking for Supervisor Permissions

New, 2 comments

This summer Curbed brought you news of plans for a new set of tiled mosaic steps in Golden Gate Heights. The Hidden Garden Tiled Steps at 16th Ave between Kirkham and Lawton is now a step closer to reality (pun definitely intended), as the Board of Supervisors are voting to grant revokable permission to install the mosaic and a garden next to the steps. An organizing committee will donate the tilework, the garden, and a $20,000 maintenance fund to the city. Artists Colette Crutcher and Aileen Barr have been working on the mosaic tiles all year, and will cover 148 steps connecting Kirkham to Lawton over an almost 100' elevation gain.
