From the Curbed inbox:This abandoned building and the one next to it sit next to a great, popular addition to the neighborhood, the SOMA StrEat Food Park. It's been like this for years, and I wish the city would reclaim this land and make a park or some sort of public space. The property our reader is referring to is the southwest corner of 11th and Harrison Streets, the former Veteran's Cab Depot. The building has been vacant since 2004, when there was a failed bid to demo it and two other adjacent buildings to construct a 28,000 sq.ft. retail center. There don't seem to be any pipeline projects for the site, so we turn it over to you readers - what would you like to see there? A park or public space, as our asker suggests? A new higher density development (the site is zoned for 40 or 55 feet)? More space for SoMa StrEat Food Park to expand? Leave your ideas in the comments.
