Quid Pro Tweet

Besides boosting a blighted area and the city's economy, you may wonder what we get out of the Mid-Market tax break extended to Twitter and other "companies with payrolls in excess of $1 million a year." Answer: community benefits. Per the Examiner, Twitter must "spend at least $200,000 this year at local businesses and offer at least $60,000 in grants to area nonprofits" and has agreed to donate $50,000 worth of computers to schools and $60,000 in promotional tweeting for non-profits, among other acts of generosity.
