The Planning Commission is all set to verify the Final Environmental Impact Report and issue a slew of entitlements for the 801 Brannan/1 Henry Adams project. Located at Brannan Street between 7th and 8th Streets, the project would demo the existing Concourse Exhibition Hall (the recent location of the Renegade Craft Fairs, for all the crafters out there) at 801 Brannan and demo three commercial/industrial buildings at 1 Henry Adams, and would include new construction of three 68-foot six story mixed-use residential and retail buildings.
This is some massive stuff - we're talking up to 671 residential units, 31,420 sq.ft. of retail space, and 586 parking spaces, not to mention the creation of a new two-way, publicly accessible alley which would connect Seventh and Eighth Streets. Both sites are Archstone properties, and 801 Brannan will be designed by David Baker + Partners with landscape by CMG, while 1 Henry Adams will be designed by Bar Architects. The public comment period for the Draft EIR ended in August, so don't try to get your comments in now. You can only testify as to whether the commission should vote yay or nay.
