T.I. Radiation Report Freaking Out the BoS

The report we touched on yesterday about Treasure Island's radiation threat has prompted the Board of Supervisors to call for a hearing next week to discuss the reports. As you may already know, the city's trying to buy the island for $100M from the U.S. Navy so that it can be developed into a space for 8,000 new homes, a hotel and an upgraded marina. The Navy's originally agreed to clean up the island's contamination, but the report suggests there is more radiological contamination that previously thought. "I worry just with the 'potential' when it comes to radiation" said Supervisor John Avalos.
