Supes Stand by 8 Washington

Yesterday the Board of Supervisors stuck with their initial approval of the 8 Washington project, voting the same 8-3 as they did back in June. The Telegraph Hill Dwellers referendum will now likely appear on the November 2013 ballot, stalling the project until then, after their failed campaign to swing the votes of three Supervisors and reverse the approval of a special 136-foot height limit for the project. The Supes that supported the project weren't having it, noting that the people who signed the referendum only heard the opponent's perspective, and the referendum will allow citizens to hear both sides. Sup. Olague alluded to the warnings she's received from opponents, who threatened "dire electoral consequences" if she didn't change her vote. Keep it classy guys. [SF Gate/Curbed SF]
