In Stinson Beach, Another Esherick on the Market

New, 14 comments

Another Joseph-Esherick designed home is on the market, this time in Marin County's Stinson Beach. The sandy private stretch of Stinson Beach known as Seadrift has a history for high-pedigree pricey properties, and at $6,895,000 268 Seadrift Road is no different. It is an Esherick design, which means wood paneling galore and a sheltered outdoor courtyard. Designed by the master architect in 1987, the house is on the small side at 2,976 sq.ft. and 2 bedrooms/3 baths, but also includes a small guest suite (complete with a murphy bed built into custom cabinetry, which "frees up the floor for use as a meditation room," of course). The current owners are the founders of McGuire Furnishings, which explains the penchant for rattan in the photos. We're pretty sure the epic sweeping views and outdoor patios will make up for any lack of space for future buyers. That being said, the property already has been listed for about 4 months. Seadrift is a gated community, so HOA dues are running about $213/month. Tell us readers, what will it take for this one to get a bite?
