Celebration for the Pacific Rod and Gun Club may have been premature, as the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission filed an unlawful detainer lawsuit in San Francisco Superior Court against the Gun Club on Monday. The suit is intended to figure out who is liable for millions of dollars in cleanup costs on the shores of Lake Merced. The Club hasn't signed a lease that includes a provision for them to clean up the decades-worth of lead bullets and clay pigeons that are littering the area, but spokespeople say they're not skirting the responsibility - it's just a complicated situation.
