SF's Worst Playground

The Father Alfred E. Boeddeker Park playground in the Tenderloin has been ranked the worst playground in San Francisco by the San Francisco Parks Alliance and the SF Rec and Park Department. There's talk of kids getting splinters and bits of paint dotting their clothes after they leave the playground, which sometimes isn't open despite posted hours. Thankfully, the park is up for a major renovation come October or November, and the $8M project will give the park a new basketball and volleyball court, a tai chi patio, a walking path, a lawn, a stage, a spacious clubhouse and a play area.
