Despite that whole about-to-go-bankrupt maybe-losing-their accreditation thing, City College celebrated the opening of its new Chinatown/North Beach campus on Friday. The 14-story campus at 800 Kearny Street will serve 7,500 students, and includes a childcare observation lab, library, and computer laboratories. Earlier this week a critical financial review was released by the state's Fiscal Crisis & Management Assistance Team, which showed the school basically out of money. Don't hold it against the Chinatown/North Beach campus though, since it was financed by city bonds, private donations and $48 million in state funding. [SF Appeal, Curbed SF/Photo: Gary Stevens]
