Last Thursday the Rec & Parks Commission approved the design for the Union Square Central Subway Station. The Commission was clear that they were only voting on the design of the station, and weren't taking any positions on the proposed transit system. Save Muni, the group in opposition of the subway line, says they'll continue to fight, most recently arguing that the station cannot be placed on park property because it does not serve "a recreational purpose" as required by the city charter. Despite the approvals, they seem to be itching for a lawsuit. [SFist]
