Groups in Berkeley have raised enough money to host their own version of Sunday Streets. Back in May, the Mayor of Berkeley, Liveable Berkeley, and other groups held a fundraiser to pay for an event organizer, promotion, police protection, barricades and other incidentals. The event will follow the San Francisco Sunday Streets model, and take place in Downtown Berkeley on Shattuck Avenue from Haste to Rose on October 14, 2012 from 11am - 4pm.
