The Minnie and Lovie Ward Recreation Center and Playfields, formerly Ocean View Park and Recreation Center, is up before the Planning Commission today, as a neighborhood group has appealed the environmental review for the park's renovation. The proposed project will replace grass playfields with synthetic turf and the installation of twelve 60- to 80-foot-tall light standards (sound familiar?), and replace bleachers, fences, and baseball dugouts. The appeal was supposed to be heard back in March of this year, but has been continued a few times (presumably to work out the difference). [SF Planning]
