State Denies Recycling Center

New, 2 comments

California's Supreme Court ruled last week that it will not hear the Haight-Ashbury Neighborhood Council's case to review the eviction of its recycling center near Kezar Stadium. The case will now go back to the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals where the eviction was upheld in July. According to the Examiner, this could mean the recycling center could be forced off the site within the next 30 days. In the past, HANC has said that if the appeal wasn't heard, they would weigh other legal options and appeal to Mayor Ed Lee. The center was given an eviction notice in 2011 to make way for a community garden. [SF Examiner/Curbed SF]
