As expected, seats and luxury boxes for the new 49ers stadium in Santa Clara are selling quickly, even though the stadium isn't built yet. The football team has already sold $670 million in seats, with suites being the best seller at 72 percent sold. The 49ers said 70 percent of current ticket holders committed to spend thousands of dollars each to keep their spots when the new field opens in two years. Others focused on where the money might be better spent. "My husband says if he wins the lottery he would probably buy the tickets because he loves the Niners," said Linda McLean, whose family now has four season tickets. "But we're looking at my son going to college."
