Readers had some questions on yesterday's SoMa Studios post, so we followed-up with the project team to get some more info. They haven't solidified rent prices yet, but their research shows other studios around SoMa are currently going for anything from $1800 to $2800, so expect something in that range. In regards to acoustics, the pre-fab construction type will actually reduce any noise from neighboring units, since each wall, floor, and ceiling are basically doubled up due to the modular nature of the construction. Normal apartments share walls, but these "boxes" are self contained apartments, so when set atop one another, there are two layers of insulation. Sounds (quietly) good to us. [Curbed Inbox]
