It's quite clear that the San Francisco rental market is hot, hot, hot right now, so here at Curbed we're going to bring you a bevy of rental properties each week for your perusal This week, we look north of Golden Gate Park to apartments within walking distance of this weekend's Outside Lands Music Festival. And yes, we know there's all sorts of other great stuff in the Richmond to make it worth your while the other 362 days of the year as well.
Part of the draw to the Richmond is its relatively affordable housing, so we found a few great spots at or below $2,000. The first is this studio at 25th and Cabrillo, just a hop skip and a jump from Hellman Hollow, aka Speedway Meadow where local favorite Thee Oh Sees will take the stage Saturday evening. The apartment itself is $1,395 per month, and looks basic but includes hardwood and a walk-in closet. Laundry is in the building, parking is on your own. [craigslist]
A little further north of the park on Geary, we fell in love with this one bedroom apartment for $1,750. Walk four blocks south and you'll enter the park near the Polo Fields, where headliners like Stevie Wonder and Metallica will play. Other days of the year, you'll share this side of the park with the lovely park bison, and remote-control boat operators of Spreckels Lake. To your north is Lincoln Park, which is gorgeous and hosts the Lands End Trail. The apartment itself is great -- hardwoods, closets, and a common back patio for the four units. Laundry is in the building as well as separate storage. [craigslist]
A little further to the East and you'll find this one bedroom on 8th and Geary in the Inner Richmond. We are suckers for yellow paint and streaming sunlight, and this spacious place for $2,150 seemed like a great spot for a couple as it's on the more expensive side for the nieghborhood but still much cheaper than most central neighborhoods. We love the additional office -- they call it out as a possible sleeping room, but that seems a little cramped to us. No word on laundry, but storage is included. [craigslist]
