That Was Quick!

$2M of the estimated costs to repair Pier 29 has been paid by Ports insurance carrier AIG. The speedy payment will get things moving even faster to repair the pier, damaged in a fire last June 21. The fire caused an unexpected delay in work on the pier, slated to accommodate back-of-the-house support for the America's Cup Village that will rise around the new cruise terminal for the 2013 races. There's another few hundred thousand in the mail as soon as a final tally is complete. Thanks AIG! [City Insider/Curbed SF]
