There are bike parking rules within the Planning Code, and on Thursday the Planning Commission will vote to make some changes to them. Parking requirements would increase for residential and commercial spaces, and requirements would be established for other categories like schools and colleges, grocery stores, manufacturing, medical services, childcare, cultural centers, etc. It'll also include more detailed requirements for placement and design of bike parking structures. Now if only they could make bike locks more secure, we'd be on to something. [SF Gov/Photo: Shutterstock]
