The Billionaire Next Door

From our cousins at Curbed National, we learn that Google co-founder Sergey Brin lived in a modest home crappy apartment during his "first job." Of course, at some point, through that job, he became a billionaire and bought a $7 million crib, but he may have lived in said apartment for several years after becoming fabulously rich. What's more, there seems to be no good reason to stick with this particular apartment as it gets widely panned on apartmentratings.com, and to us, seems awfully expensive at $4,000 for a two-bedroom place with tons of problems. Aside from the usual complaints about an uncaring management and paper-thing walls, there are several instances of the asbestos-laden ceiling falling in on tenants. The horror!
