Marco Carvajal of Herth Real Estate
Have you always been in the real estate industry or did you have a different career before entering brokerdom? I've been in some form of sales my entire life. I began working in real estate about 3 years ago doing leasing and corporate housing. I was destined to be a realtor considering my mother's love of real estate and her propensity towards dragging her son to every open house within 30 miles.
What do you like to do when you're not selling real estate? I spend a fair amount of time lifting weights, running, cycling, and at the dog park with my 4 year old english bulldog Lela. I frequent San Francisco's nightlife scene and travel a lot.
Best advice for buyers/renters? Persistance, patience, and a positive attitude. Whether you're looking to buy or rent in the city the competition is fierce and it's crucial that you not get flustered or frustrated.
People in your industry are always so good looking. What are some of your secret grooming tips? Thankfully I have a leg up on my competition. I was born gay and latin, so that means good hair and skin. I thank my overbearing Jewish mother and green card toting Ecuadorean father for that.
Zac Monsees of Cassidy Turley
Best advice for buyers/renters? Never underestimate the power of due diligence.
Funniest anecdote from life as a broker: A listing that I was hired to represent turned out to be a former doggy day care on the bottom floor. Nice smell for the retail component. Oh, I forgot to mention the upstairs was a former bath-house. Hot tub stains on the hardwood floors and dog pee on the ground level. Lovely.
Have you always been in the real estate industry or did you have a different career before entering brokerdom? Played water polo professionally after college before starting the life in brokerdom.
People in your industry are always so good looking. What are some of your secret grooming tips? Magnetic collar stays and shaving in the steam room.
UPDATE: Because of unforeseen circumstances, Marco Carvajal will be advancing to Round 2 instead of Zac Monsees.
