Gen Y to Buy?

One builder in the Midwest is appealing to a younger generation of homebuyers. PulteGroup is testing its “Independence” series in suburban Chicago, St. Louis and San Antonio, selling one- and two-story homes that range from 1,100 to 2,300 square feet and have up to four bedrooms. When shopping for homes, consumers are given an iPad to use to play around with different configurations and to calculate what they can get — and what they have to give up — for a certain monthly payment.
