"The world is full of 'NIMBYS' and fearful men" was Governor Brown's take-away quote from yesterday's ceremony and speech-fest at the future Transbay Terminal site, celebrating the signing of SB 1029, committing $8B to high-speed rail and local rail transit upgrades between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The bill passed on July 6 by 1 vote. Brown, who had signed the bill earlier in the day at Union Station, reminded people that when his father was Governor, BART almost didn't happen. [SF Examiner]
