Despite the epic battle brewing over the California Pacific Medical Center's expansion plans, complete with lunchtime protests at City Hall, the Supes voted to give the medical group two weeks to address concerns. The conversations during the hearing made it clear most of the Supervisors were going to vote to overturn the EIR certification, but California Pacific agreed to more discussion on the city's concerns if given a two-week delay. If the Supes do overturn the EIR certification, a spokeswoman for CPMC said it would effectively kill the project since redoing the document would take anywhere form 18 months to two years and cost millions of dollars - an damaging setback with CPMC facing a 2015 state deadline to retrofit its hospitals.
