2209 Pacific Avenue is big, handsome, very French and very formal, having been designed by Arthur Brown right about the time he was re-creating Paris at City Hall. It also refuses to sell. The fully-renovated, 5-bed,7-bath, elevatored, media-roomed and roof-decked mansion been for sale since July 2011, asking $9.5M and then descending to the depths of $7.95M this past May. Lovely garden, and what's not to love about those garage doors? It's back on the market with a new agent and the same asking price of $7,950,000. It's got somewhat of a new look, but sadly, still on the same characterless block. [Redfin/Curbed SF]
