"This is ridiculous. The quality of life for someone in a space like that would be horrendous" was one of the comments from our post on the possibly shrinking legal definition of efficiency apartments here in San Francisco. The same day, an article in the New York Times discussed the same issue. New Yorkers would get 55 more square feet but no closet. Which in a city where people actually own overcoats, seems foolhardy. As if on cue, the Times issued forth with Must Haves for the Micro-Pad on how to live stylishly and well in a small space, featuring San Francisco's ace plantswoman Flora Grubb in the mix.
