The San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center will open a research center in Mission Bay come late summer or early fall. The 42,000-square-foot center will house 130 staff members that'll be relocated from its campus in the Richmond. "This allows us to decompress the VA campus and provide new state-of-the-art facilities to conduct important scientific work," said the center's associate research and development chief, Carl Grunfeld.
