Late last month, Artemis Racing signed a 1-year, 20K a month lease for a hangar at the Naval Air Station in Alameda to be their base for the America's Cup Race. The Chron says the lease is "effective immediately," although if the race is in September 2013, what happens for the remaining four months? Artemis is also bringing 70 families of crew and staff members, all of whom will be looking to sublet your lovely home. Three or four other teams are shopping for facilities to call their own, and while Alameda can accommodate them all, Oakland and Richmond are touting both their waterfront facilities and undying allegiance to the sport of sailing.
