"This ruling proves that the affordable housing protections San Francisco negotiates have teeth, and that city leaders are fully committed to enforcing them," City Attorney Dennis Herrera said. Last month we told you a 164-unit building at 639 Geary in the Tenderloin was fixing to drastically raise the rents of its 33 low-income tenants, and that Herrera wasn't having it. We're happy to report that San Francisco has won a Superior Court order temporarily blocking the rent raise. [SF Appeal/image via Shutterstock]
